Macclesfield OvalThis is where the club plays most of it's cricket and holds training. Apart from the playing surface, the grounds also contain newly built practice nets, clubrooms with licensed bar, a playground for the kids, and tennis and netball facilities. There are two entries, one off the main road Venables St, and one off Davies Street. The playing surface was originally modelled on Adelaide Oval, and has since been altered lengthwise to cater for practice facilities. Drainage was installed in late 2007, as a result Macclesfield now ranks as one of the better ovals in the Fleurieu region. The new pitch was laid back in 2002. New practice nets were completed in early 2002 thanks to a combined effort of fundraising, free labour from the community, and grant money from the active sports program. A huge improvement, the two new nets include full length hard wickets, watered lawn run-ups, and on site power. Clubrooms are open Thursday nights for training and all game days. We have competetive bar prices, and $2 junior supporters club raffle drawn every Saturday night. Davenport SquareDavenport Square (The Flat) was the club's original first ground, being used regularly before 1880. Since the 1950's it has become our second home, now used by colts and senior grades. Located right in the heart of town, on the corners of Vernon and Venables Street, it's short boundaries make for entertaining cricket. BBQ and playground facilities are available, all within a stone's throw of local shops and hotels. It's a great place to spend a sunny Saturday arvo.
